The Long View suite was perfect for our needs.

We had a safe return to the UK, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to France – especially our stay at the Château des Sablons. The Long View suite was perfect for our needs. The grounds are beautiful and inviting. We will recommend the chateau, and would definitely stay again.

Thanks again for all the guidance and directing us to great food, markets, the fete, gardens, and making us welcome in your home. We had a great time with you.

Thank you. I love the Pernety neighborhood and chose to stay there again, having discovered it last summer. This summer I had fun at the Bal des Thermopyles on the rue des Thermopyles. I also went to a lecture on the neighborhood at the vide-grenier. I even walked the back streets on the rue du Moulin Vert to Alésia discovering the Villa Alésia with the artstis' studios, the parks, and the village feel of this quartier populaire.

And yes, I trained myself to take buses and not to reflexively go underground. I look the 58 a lot and others to Montparnasse. The Place de Catalogne behind the gare Montparnasse is interesting too. Very Italian Futurist. I feel like I know Paris so much better now!

We would like to thank Historic Rentals for a wonderful stay at the Château des Sablons. Our family of four, including an 18 year old and a 12 yr old, just loved the Garden Suite which was very spacious. The town of Bourgueil was very pretty, and the Tuesday market is a must for anyone visiting the area. We traveled from Australia, and we would certainly love to come back. Just magic!

We enjoyed the Rosiers suite very much!

We enjoyed the Rosiers suite very much. This suite along with the Cluny and Luxembourg suites located on Rue de l’École Polytechnique are in wonderful locations. I'm not quite sure which one we will choose for our next trip (probably not until 2013). The restaurant L'As du Falafel was as described, and terrific. I particularly enjoyed the man who walked up and down the lines collecting for the meal and, if anyone hesitated more than two seconds in ordering, he told them what they were going to eat. The patisserie/boulangerie at the corner of Rue des Rosiers and Rue des Ecouffes were superb. I got a kick out of the cashier, an older man, who beamed with genuine delight when I was able to pay with the exact amount of cash.

We were indeed able to get tickets to La Bayadère at the Opéra Garnier by going to the box office as you suggested. For 10 € each we were seated in a box with a beautiful view of the stage. Problem was, we were in the third row which we had a perfect view of the backs of the heads of the people in front of us. There was a simple solution - we turned the chairs around and alternately knelt and stood, and thereby saw the entire ballet which was wonderful.
