We really enjoyed the Slave Quarter Suite

We stayed in the Slave Quarter Suite for a week, and we really enjoyed it. Everything in the French Quarter felt close and easy to find. The suite was much larger than anticipated, with plenty of room, especially compared to most hotel rooms. The nights were very quiet. With no one above or below and no street noise, even folks from rural settings (like we are) should sleep well. Winston was helpful, although we really had everything we needed available in the Slave Quarter Suite. He directed us to an excellent laundry a block away, which returned our clothes folded and on hangers, just as we would have done it at home. We hope to return.

Thank you very much for the clear and concise instructions and information about the Cluny apartment and Paris. All the information made the trip much less stressful, and we could enjoy being in Paris and seeing everything that we wished to see. The Cluny apartment is lovely, and in a great location! It's comfortable and tastefully decorated. The only thing we had any problem with was the WiFi. It had a great signal, but we couldn't actually get connected.... We did find an internet café so it all worked out.

If we return to Paris we would choose to stay in the Cluny apartment again. We will also recommend the Cluny apartment to friends without hesitation as it is an ideal place to stay.

We had a perfectly marvelous time in the Luberon biking and hiking around the valley towns. It was so special – as was our little love nest from which we'd wander forth from every day.

We found that there is an ATM in Bonnieux at the Post Office. That location is much better than going to Coustellet, so you might want to update you guide books.

Le Golubet restaurant in Menerbes had really nice folks, reasonable prices, and good food. The restaurant next door is way over-priced. The chef is a snob, but he's good. In Bonnieux, the view from Les Terraces restaurant is superb and the food is good, but the waiters are Parisian – cold and aloof. Le Terrail was our favorite. It has excellent food, wonderful energy, and the treatment by the staff was great. It also had a nice view, and was a good value.

The Montparnasse area is wonderful!

We've had a lovely time in Paris. The Montparnasse area is wonderful. The Rue Du Chateau apartment is comfortable, and very well equipped. There are lovely shops nearby, as well as a metro station. The metro is extremely easy to use, but we suggest buying a book of ten tickets if you will use it often - it's cheaper. We have enjoyed everywhere that we've visited and couldn't possibly recommend only one attraction! We have also eaten at many different restaurants, and found them all to be good with friendly staff and reasonable prices.

The Edouard Jacques Studio apartment was very pleasant!

The rather run-down entrance belied a very pleasant apartment. The stairs were typically Parisian, and no worse than many of the other apartments where we have stayed in the past. The Edouard Jacques Studio was ideal for a one week stay. The flowers in the vase were a very nice welcome. Both of us agreed that the bed was the best we had ever slept in while in a Paris apartment. Even the one-armed chair at the table had its convenience for turning to watch television while eating, or getting up without obstruction. Overall your instructions were well researched, and covered most everything.

Paris in the winter was wonderful for me....

Everything went well, and the Marais apartment was as advertised - all the pics and directions made sense. Your advice was very well taken too (e.g. put the suitcase in the closet). The flowers, leaving a light on, and the heater on very low made the arrival very easy and comfortable especially after a long flight. The cable tv was a god send as I made sure I was home in time to watch the inauguration!

Paris in the winter was wonderful for me as I don't like the crowds (there are still plenty of tourists and people though, but much easier to get around to see what you want to see). The Rosiers apartment was ideally situated too, again as you said.

I'll definitely recommend it to friends, and may even be back some day.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable stay in the Luxembourg Apartment. Your instructions were easy to follow. We found the place and gained access with no problems. The apartment was clean, well-furnished, and equipped with everything we could possibley need. It was great to be so near the center of Paris with easy access to all the sights - and even a good restaurant next door!

It was not our first visit to Paris, but the first time we had stayed in an apartment rather than a hotel, and it's an experience we would certainly be happy to repeat and recommend to family and friends. We were even blessed with glorious weather!

We stayed in the Coach House Suite and had a wonderful time!

My family and I stayed at the Chateau des Sablons for a week in July 2008. We stayed in the three-bedroom apartment, the Coach House Suite, and had a wonderful time. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and the beds firm. The kitchen was also well equipped. The Chateau is on a gated private land with mature trees, and the owners have made every effort to create a relaxing environment. The Chateau des Sablons is very close to the highway which made it easy to travel to castles in the Loire that we wanted to see. There are many superb restaurants in the area with various price ranges. I sincerely hope we will back there soon and would strongly recommend this address.

We had a wonderful time at the Cluny Suite! It is ideally located in the 5th arrondissement, within easy walking distance to both the Mouffetard student quarter and St. Germain/St. Michel/Odeon. Historic Rentals sends a Concierge Book before you travel with all sorts of useful information about the area. The apartment is quiet, spacious, and the bathroom and kitchen are totally equipped (microwave, and even a hair dryer). The firm king bed is also an unusual find for Europe. In the living room, there is cable TV, phone, internet access, and a well-stocked library of maps and guide books. We didn't realize this, and brought our own, copies of which already there for our use, including the indispensable "Red Book," the Plan de Paris par Arrondissement. We felt like we were at home at in the Cluny Suite, and will certainly stay there again on our next trip!

Our experience we had at the Cluny Suite was so positive in every way that I think the best way to recount it is to start at the beginning. First of all, the whole process of reserving the suite and working with you on it was pleasant. Your informational email was extremely useful, and receiving the key before we even left for Paris made our access to the apartment smooth, easy, and welcoming. When we arrived, we were greeted by a flowering orchid plant in the vestibule, and all essential supplies in the kitchen. Everything was clean and in order, and we we reamazed at how comfortable the quarters were. The apartment is very well-appointed and the kitchen is well-equipped. It became our home for a week, and I was surprised at how "at home" I really felt.

The location cannot be beat with the Pantheon, the Medieval Museum, Notre Dame, and the Luxembourg Gardens all within easy walking distance as also the metro and RER stations. We lived and breathed Paris as much like the natives as it is possible to do as visitors. We went to the Farmer's Market that meets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and is within a few blocks of the apartment. Another find was a frozen foods store (Picard) right around the corner from Rue D'Ecole Polytechnique where we got excellent meals to go with our breads, cheeses, fruits, and olives that we had picked up at the Farmer's Market.

The apartment's prime location made visits to all the obligatory tourist sites very handy. It also allowed us to take many walks along the Seine late in the evening after a busy day of taking in the sights. The whole experience now seems like a dream, and much of our pleasure had to do with our comfortable and unique "home" in Paris. I was so happy with our experience that I have been mentioning it to all my colleagues and friends to whom I have highly recommended your place. I know that if and when I ever go to Paris again, you will hear from me.

Our suite was like a show house!

We would like to thank you both for making a good holiday great. Our suite was like a show house. Everything was immaculate, including the vase of fresh flowers (nice touch) on the kitchen table. We had an absolutely wonderful week at Château des Sablons, and it was perfect for our first holiday with our new baby. The Coach House Suite was like a home away from home (except tidier than ours!) and we really enjoyed the views of the château and grounds. I think the set-up is particularly ideal for children – no stairs, plenty of outside space, and secure grounds – so we will think of coming again once Anna is older. I loved having feedback from the other folks who have stayed in the Cluny Suite. That is why we tried the next-door restaurant Les Fêtes Galantes – which ended up being one of our favorite restaurants on the trip!

We loved spending our vacation in the gorgeous village of Menerbes: quiet, beautiful views, wonderful bakery with the aroma of the fresh baguette that filters through the window and wakes you up in the morning! The High View House includes all the comfort we could imagine and its location is perfect to visit other beautiful villages by car or bike. Cycling through the lavender fields and vineyards is just magnificent and so relaxful, and the wineries are a must to visit. The entire valley of the Luberon is magical! We did take a day trip to the Loire Valley, and it worked quite well. We used a service we found on the Internet called linkparis.com. They arranged train reservations to Tours where we met a van service at the Tourist Office that took us to four different castles and returned us to the train for the evening return to Paris. It is a little pricey, but was perfect for my granddaughter and me.

We had a wonderful holiday in Annecy. There is so much to see and do: lovely parks, great shops, family cycle trail down the side of the lake, good clean local public swimming pool, and another lovely park within the pool area.

The apartment is in the old town – in the hub of everything that's going on. To open the french doors and hear the buzz of the old town was entertainment in its self. We loved it all.

Our stay in your little apartment in Menerbes was everything we were wanting in village living. We particularly enjoyed your blond neighbor with her four black dogs and black cat that trails behind.

The only thing we missed was a patio to eat and read outdoors, but we compensated by taking several picnics or a before-dinner glass of wine in Dora Marr's garden. That tiny park is a manicured gem, and few people seemed to know or care about it.

We loved your very well-furnished rental and had a marvelous time.

The welcome and charm of the Rosiers Suite added to our wonderful time in Paris immeasurably.

We had a wonderful time in Paris, and the welcome and charm of the apartment added to this immeasurably. The fresh flowers were a lovely homey touch, and the cold Heineken in the fridge after a hot and stressful day were heaven sent. (We did replace them!) The apartment is perfectly located, and exploring the cobbled streets in the area was a favourite pastime. We tended to eat out at lunch as we were on the go and none of our food experiences were worth noting. We enjoyed coming home and relaxing with wine and dinner for a couple of hours, and then strolling in the long June evenings. We found the grocery store of the Bon Marché had a wonderful selection of delicious offerings for each course, and a quick reheat produced a very satisfying meal for us.

Thank you for your attention to detail. Your information package about the apartment and area was extremely helpful and much appreciated. We did have trouble with the television and could only get the menu page at the end of the week although we tried to reset the freebox. We did not heed your advice and tried to use the airport shuttle service (Beeline in Frommer's). Thirty-five minutes after the appointed time (7:30 a.m. on Saturday so not the height of rush hour) they had still not arrived even after we phoned 3 times and they assured us they were on route and only minutes away. We ended up in a cab from in front of St. Paul metro and things went smoothly from there. (Cab was 40 euros, only 6 more euros than the shuttle, although we read that a cab would be much more.)

I must tell you that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Rue des Rosiers. Everything looked and worked as advertised. We even found the iron – it was under the kitchen sink. We are telling everyone we can that the only way to stay in Paris is in an apartment rented through you. Your concierge advice also proved to be very valuable. In particular, we got extensive use of our Orange Cards and found riding the buses an excellent way to get around Paris while seeing lots of sights. We had beautiful sunny weather, and awoke to snow-covered rooftops. The Boulangerie Rouge at 3 rue de lac was our favorite for rustic breads made in-house. The Restaurant Lyonaise was very good for seafood – a nice break from the cuisine Savoyard. Annecy is a great city with much activity. We would love to visit again in the summer. Merci!

Annecy is a wonderful vacation destination!

The Annecy Suite is in the heart of the Medieval District overlooking the river canal and its borders which were full of life and flowers. The open air "marche" almost occurs next door. This is the sort of location and accommodation that one would expect a high-priced, very experienced travel agent to PERHAPS be able to make available.

Annecy is incredibly clean, beautifully situated, and has a lovely, large park within walking distance right by the lake. The town is very walkable. Historic Rentals provides a wonderfully complete book of household instructions and contact numbers for daily needs and emergencies. A superb arrangement – but be prepared for those circular medieval stairs!

On a side note: I STUMBLED on to the Historic Rentals website. I was seeking another that was close in spelling.... Thank God I did! It could not have been more perfect.

The Cluny Suite helped make this vacation one of our best!

We just returned from a 10 day stay at the Cluny Suite, and my husband and I both agree that this was one of our very best vacations, in large part due to our decision to stay in an apartment and the Cluny Suite in particular. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. We could not believe how large it was, it seemed as though it was recently renovated, and it was so well appointed, from the kitchen to the bathroom to the guidebooks, etc. The only thing we would add would be a few more hangers and that is literally our one and only "complaint." The bedroom is unique and so quiet. We rarely heard any noise from the street or the other units in the building. The location is ideal. So close to amazing restaurants and shops and we felt like we were removed from the touristy area although it was a very short walk to Notre Dame, Blvd. St Germain, Luxembourg gardens, and a single metro/RER ride to Versailles or to watch the French Open at Rolland Garros. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else when we return to Paris. Your description of the apartment is modest – we were thrilled with everything about our stay and will be back. Thanks again.

The Cluny Suite kitchen was well equipped...

On one of our last days in Paris, we shopped a local street market for some nice seafood and other accompaniments. I having been a chef in the past, found the kitchen well equipped enough to cook a simple dinner to rival some of the better meals we had enjoyed at restaurants in Paris.

The Market at the foot of Rue Carme and Blvd. St. Germain just 3 blocks from the apartment is amazing. The foods were much fresher and more diverse than my experience at home in Santa Fe. My first trip outside of the US was made very much richer by the rental of your suite. We will hope to rent the Cluny Suite again soon.

We spent 9 wonderful nights in Paris in your Cluny apartment. We really appreciated the small touches (tissues, guide books, kitchen basics, etc.). The whole place is very comfortable and we felt very much at home.

The apartment was actually larger than I thought. Your photos are great, but it was better than I hoped. We found it to be so well located that most of the time we tended to walk.

When we went further afield, we took your advice and used the buses. As you said, It was just like the metro, but with views. Once you have it worked out, it is a breeze. We tried to get another bus map to add to yours since we used it constantly (and practically wore it out).

We will certainly be recommending your company to our friends. If you have any inquiries from Australia we would be more than happy to speak to them if they would like to know more.
